ALMATY - An Indonesian oil delegation is due to travel to Iran by the end of May to discuss the resumption of Kazakh oil export through Iranian soil. The delegation comprises experts of an Indonesian oil company named Asia central Petrolium that is the principal owner of a Kazakh oil company whose oil product from an oil field in Kazakhstan was exported via Iran. The export of Kazakh oil was suspended last year after exportation of some 70,000 tons of the crude due to its high rate of mercaptan residue.
A weekly in Almaty wrote on Friday that the Indonesian delegation would try to find a suitable arrangement for exporting Kazakh crude oil by Iran. The Iranian and Kazakh presidents agreed in a meeting on the sidelines of the ECO Summit this week to resume Kazakhstan's oil export via Iran. (IRNA)
